Upper Division Students Rank First in Regional STEM Fair

Berkeley students did an amazing job at the 2025 Hillsborough Regional STEM Fair, placing first in their respective categories.
Krish Taneja ’26 (top picture) won the Regeneron Biomedical Science Award (ISEF) for his project, “Exploring the Endocannabinoid System: A Potential Approach to Treating Diabetic Kidney Disease,” which he worked on with two USF professors, Alexander Starushchenko and Steven Didik.
Chilok Mak ’27 and Neal Gupta ’27 (bottom picture) won the National Geographic Education Award for their project, “AI-Powered Rip Current Detection: A Novel Approach to Coastal Safety.”
